Attorney General Jim Hood Teams with Facebook in Online Safety Campaign

Protecting teens’ online privacy is the goal of a new public education campaign launched today by Attorney General Jim Hood in cooperation with Facebook.  “As parents, we address issues of trust, accountability and respect with our children concerning their direct interactions with others and we should treat online conversations the same,” said Attorney General Hood. “I am proud to partner with Facebook for this consumer education campaign focusing on safety and privacy.”

Deadbeat Mom Sentenced for Failing to Pay Child Support

A Texas woman has answered in court for her failure to support her children in Mississippi, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.  Cheryl Lynn Walton, 39, of Corpus Christi, Texas, pleaded guilty and was sentenced today on two counts of felony non-support of her children before Rankin County Circuit Court Judge William E. Chapman.  Judge Chapman sentenced Walton concurrently on each count to five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, suspended, with post
