FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson, MS—An Itawamba County man is facing charges of abuse against a vulnerable person, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.
Raymond Brown, age 63, of Golden, has been arrested by Investigator Joe Sanderson of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit with assistance from the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department. Brown is charged with two felony counts of sexual battery of a vulnerable person.
Itawamba Justice Court Judge Barry Davis set bond at $10,000 and warned Brown that if he attempted to make any contact with the victim, who is mentally challenged and institutionalized, his bond would be revoked and he would sit in jail to await further court proceedings.
If convicted, Brown faces a maximum of 60 years in jail and $20,000 in fines. As with all cases, the defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
