Jackson, MS—A Picayune resident is behind bars today facing charges he possessed child pornography.

Michael Alan Buckley, age 41, of Picayune was arrested Wednesday for one count of possession of child pornography following an undercover Internet investigation by the Louisiana State Police and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

“We have put extra resources into our cyber staff and their training over the past year and we are coming after anyone downloading child porn in our state,” said Attorney General Hood.

Buckley was booked into the Pearl River County Detention Center following his arrest by investigators with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit with assistance from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office. His bond was set at $40,000. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years behind bars.

As with all cases, the defendant is considered not guilty until proven guilty in a Court of law.
