As a father of three, nothing is more important to Attorney General Jim Hood than family. The Office of the Attorney General is dedicated to protecting children by providing families with helpful resources, such as the "Guide to Child Safety: A Parent's Plan", Internet safety tips, links to the Sex Offender Registry and the "School Violence Prevention Guide".

Children are our greatest resource and that is why the Office of the Attorney General works so hard to protect them from violence and crime. The Office of the Attorney General is a recipient of a federal grant that allows us to aggressively and pro-actively investigate and prosecute internet crimes against children through our Cyber Crime Division. The Domestic Violence Division of the Attorney General's Office brings a cohesiveness to the state's efforts to fight domestic violence by acting as a resource for law enforcement, prosecutors, judges and all other individuals or entities having legal duties related to domestic violence victims or providing services to domestic violence victims within the State of Mississippi. The Youth Services Division supports prevention of efforts that reduce juvenile delinquency, truancy, exploitation, and child abuse and neglect through the creation and promotion of after-school programs, mentoring initiatives, training opportunities and other proactive youth endeavors. Our Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement Unit conducts undercover investigations of stores and bars in the state to help limit minor's access to tobacco and alcohol. The Attorney General's Office encourages families to utlize the resources of this office. Let's work together to keep our children safe!
